Our Staff

Lynn Warwick

Executive Director

Lynn, reporting to the MPBIA Board of Directors, is responsible for the development and implimentation of the MPBIA short-term and long-term policies and objectives. This encompasses membership dialogue and on-going interaction, overseeing the various initiatives of the MPBIA including the marketing and promotions program, developing on-going relationships with the City of Vancouver and Community organizations and representing member’s interests in a myriad of fronts.

An SFU grad, with the CSM and RIBC designations, Lynn’s background prior to becoming involved in the BIA world, revolved around shopping centre management, development and leasing, which is exactly the skill set the BIA concept was developed to emulate for the stores on the street. Lynn was on the Board of Directors of the MPBIA for a number of years and was acting Executive Director in 2006-2007 before assuming the position full-time in 2008. She is a very strong advocate for the concept of a BIA and her overriding goal is to maximize the benefit of the organization for the membership for the MPBIA. She loves being able to help our small business owners both collectively and on an one to one basis and being involved in the creation of an enhanced environment for our business and property owners so they can maximize their return on investment.

Kara Mintzberg

Manager

Kara works with the MPBIA Team to heighten the awareness and effectiveness of the MPBIA’s impact through web, marketing, outreach, and special events to add value to our member businesses.

An MBA and a MA graduate with a specialization in non-profit management, Kara has a strong background in event management, communications, and development, and has won local and provincial leadership awards for  community-building projects she’s developed for several mission-driven organizations.

The Mount Pleasant/Main Street community has always been a favorite of Kara’s. Since joining MPBIA, she continuously looks forward to working closely with Members of the MPBIA and the community at large to implement initiatives that positively impact Member businesses and contribute to the vibrancy and excitement of this business area.
